Here's the scenerio:
There is NO emergency....I have done nothing wrong and am not running from the cops.....I have a rental car from a company that has GPS in their cars......
Can a rental car company give the police information about the location of the car just because the cops ask??? without a court order or warrant?? Answers

Cops would have to have a reason to ask for the info. But location of the car is perfectly within the rental co. right to know and share. It's their property. You didn't say rental info....just car location.....
They have more important things to do that track random rental cars. If you are in a known drug area then they may have some kind of agreement that gives them the info. Rental places like to know when their cars are in bad places cause then it gives them a good reason to come pick up the car with no refund. check the rental agreement. chino_71... : (2 years ago)
